Ryan Stucki
Managing Partner and CEO
Ryan has served as CEO since Smart Wave’s founding, helping grow it into an Inc. 5000 company. He brings over 21 years of experience growing businesses and was recognized among Salt Lake City’s Titan 100 executives. Inspired by one of his favorite business books, “Delivering Happiness,” Ryan places a very strong emphasis on customer and employee happiness.
Bretton Wall
Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer
Bretton has served as COO since Smart Wave’s founding, managing everything from post-sale operations and installation to customer service. He has contributed to key operational milestones, including implementing company-wide ERP, inventory, and warehousing systems. Guided by the philosophy that “the road to success is paved with mistakes well-handled,” Bretton focuses on fast timelines and top-tier customer care, driving an industry-leading Google review average and NPS scores above 70.
Russell Petty
Managing Partner & VP of Sales
Russell brings more than 20 years of sales and leadership experience to Smart Wave Solar. Before joining the company, he held senior sales leadership roles at high growth home services and software companies. Today, he leads Smart Wave’s sales strategy and team development in Utah, Colorado, and Illinois.
Justin Sperry
Founder, Managing Partner & VP of Business Development
As Founder, Managing Partner, and VP of Business Development, Justin brings over 15 years of solar industry expertise to leading strategic growth. He is deeply dedicated to helping homeowners take control of their energy through reliable, top-tier residential solar solutions.
Bethany Andrews
Director of Operations
Bethany joined Smart Wave Solar in 2020, advancing from Project Coordinator to Director of Operations through her dedication to seamless execution. Today, she manages the entire project lifecycle, directing design, permitting, scheduling, inspections and facilities. Deeply committed to the customer journey, Bethany also manages the customer experience and support teams, ensuring high-quality, transparent communication is at the heart of every project.
Maddie Hunt-Yates
Senior Facility Operations & Purchasing Manager
Maddie joined Smart Wave Solar in 2022, bringing a strong strategic foundation with a degree in Operations Management focused on supply chain and strategy. In her role, she optimizes inventory, streamlines vendor relationships, and drives profitability through targeted waste reduction and material cost control. Known for cultivating high-performing teams and practical process improvements, Maddie is dedicated to building scalable operational systems that support long-term company growth.
Aerik Larsen
Head of Field
Aerik brings hands-on experience in new construction and service work across both residential and commercial settings dating back to 2017. Since joining Smart Wave Solar in 2021, he has stepped up from managing job sites as an Electrical Foreman in Utah and Colorado to leading field operations as Head of Field across Utah, Colorado, and Illinois. Holding Master Electrician licenses (or local equivalent) across all three markets, Aerik works closely with installation and electrical crews to keep projects running safely, smoothly, and up to code.
Ash Houghton
Director of Customer Resolution and Brand Protection
Ash brings more than a decade of experience in customer advocacy, executive escalations, and process improvement to Smart Wave Solar. As Director of Customer Resolution & Brand Protection, she resolves complex escalations and partners across teams to address root causes. Known for practical problem-solving, Ash is passionate about turning customer feedback into meaningful change while maintaining the company’s reputation.
